Meet Jackie

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and learn more about my writing and art adventures.

I make small batch decorative and functional ceramic art, that is inspired by the crafts handed down by the women in my family. Quilting, crochet, knitting, embroidery, sewing and even rug hooking have all been present since my childhood. Transferring this inspiration to clay is a fun and interesting challenge, whether finding new ways to create texture, assemble slab work, or carve yarn-inspired patterns into thrown pieces.

Currently I am writing devotionals, focusing on joy, healing, and encouragement, with a future books including one on creativity in the works. I’ve loved writing since I was a child, so am excited to share my love of writing with the world.

The journey is not only about the destination, but what we experience along the way. Thank you for joining me on this amazing adventure!

I live and work in the traditional territory of the Haudensaunee and Anishnaabeg.

Yes! I Am Creative! Six Keys to Creativity for anyone who thinks “I’m Not Creative

Release date: September 22, 2025

30 Days of Joy: A Devotional

Released:
November 2023

30 Days of Joy: A Devotional paperback

This is a book of encouragement for people who think they are not creative; a roadmap on how to jump into creativity without fear or self-judgement. I wrote this to encourage people who regularly say “Oh I couldn’t do that - you’re so talented, I’m not!” Everyone is creative - but some of us don’t quite know how to start.

This is a 30 day devotional based on my journey and thoughts of various joy-centred scripture verses. Journey along with me as I discover how God shares joy with us in so many different ways. This was inspired by my journey from one of God’s ‘lost sheep’ to one of his dearly loved children. (Spoiler alert - we are ALL God’s dearly loved children! ❤️)

NOW AVAILABLE!

The Colouring Book and Journal edition of 30 Days of Joy: A Devotional!

40 Days of Healing: A Devotional

Released: April 2024

40 Days of Healing - A Devotional

I was first inspired to start writing about healing when a friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer and asked me to be a prayer partner for her. I was new to my faith at the time, and had little practice with prayer. Sadly, she lost her battle with cancer, but her faith and many more healing miracles I’ve seen since that time inspired me. This devotional is dedicated to everyone who needs or wants healing, whether physical, emotional, psychological, or spiritual. Prayer should not replace medical attention, but is a wonderful complement to it.

Dive into this 21 day devotional and explore how daily faith-based encouragement can improve your mindset and brighten your day. You’re worth it!

Meet Jackie Scott

Jackie has been writing stories and drawing since she could hold a crayon, and it has always been her "happy place." She's recently returned to both her first loves after spending a long time lost in the world.

Rediscovering these creative practices has changed her outlook on life. She shares her love of creativity with others, encouraging them to discover (or rediscover) their own creativity, expressing themselves in anyway they feel most comfortable. In her artwork Jackie blends watercolour and digital techniques to create hybrid artwork in repeating patterns, sharing colourful and whimsical designs that bring joy into the mundane.

Jackie Scott lives with her husband, Michael, and their two cats in Ontario, Canada, where she writes and explores various creative adventures, including pottery, watercolour, quilting, crochet, photography, writing, singing, and songwriting.

She loves to share creativity with others, dispelling the myth that only some people are creative, and feels the phrase “I’m not creative” belongs with the phrase “I can’t.” That place is nowhere, because everyone is creative; some of us just don’t know it yet. Creativity takes many forms, and for Jackie it is best described as “Passion in Action.”

Her favourite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

It is not the end, but the journey that makes the story. #ArtIsLife

Jackie enjoys relaxing with her cats after a long day. Harry (yes, named after Harry Potter) her older cat, loves soft blankets and cuddling after a long day of napping.
